Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins the body. Or basically what protien is made of.

How many amino acids are there 20. They can be found in proteins. We can produce 10 of the 20 amino acids. The rest we get from food or eating the right specialty supplements.

75% the human body is made up of amino acids.

Amino acids in the body are:

L-alanine, L-arginine,L- asparagines, L-aspartic acid, L-cysteine,L- glutamic acid, L-glutamine, L-glycine, L-histidine, L-isoleucine, L-leucine, L-lysine, L-methionine, L-phenylalanine, L-proline, L-serine, L-threonine, L-tryptophan, L-tyrosine and L-valine.

Valine, Leucine, Isoleucine,

All of these 3 aminos are called branched chain amino acid or BCAAs).Functions: increasing proteins in the body giving us energy.

(Valine) Function:for muscle metabolism and tissue repair.

Glutamine Function: Most abundant amino in the body: Helps with recovery and immune system health.

Lysine Function: calcium absorption and maintains a proper nitrogen balance

Aspartic acid Function: Increases stamina and rejuvenates cellular , muscular dystrophy, and ulcers.

Proline Function: healing of cartilage and the strengthening of joints, tendons.

Cysteine Function: protects the body from radiation damage; protects the liver and brain from damage due to alcohol, drugs

Threonine Function: aids liver and Lipotropic function when combined with Aspartic Acid and Methionine

Methionine Function: said to prevent disorders of the hair, skin, and nails.

Histidine Function: used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, ulcers and anemia.

Phenylalanine Function: used to treat arthritis, depression, menstrual cramps, migraines, obesity.

Tyrosine Function: acts as a mood elevator, suppresses the appetite, and helps reduce body fat.

Tryptophan Function: aids in weight control by reducing appetite.

Asparagine Function:

Glycine Function: for repairing damaged tissue and promotes healing.
