What are Creatine Supplements?

Creatine is probably the one great supplement discovery of our time. There has never been so much talk, negative or positive, about any individual sports supplementation.

Creatine was initally brought to prominence as a sports supplement in the 1990's. it was considerd by some to be the legal steroid of our time.

Creatine is involved in the creation of bodily energy. It makes this energy in the form of a compound called ATP. It ends up being stored in the bodies skeletal muscles. What is not being used by the body becomes excreted. This is usually a small amount, somewhere around 5 percent.

So, how can Creatine benefit you? Creatine can obviously help you with a sustained amount of muscular energy. Creatine can also prevent latic acid build up, allowing your muscles to do more.

There are numerous benefits to creatine use, but like all supplements, this should be cycled. A good cycle would consist of 4 weeks on with 2 weeks off, this will not allow for the body to become desensitized.

Remember, research is always key to the creatine supplement of choice, depending on how and what you need it for, there are specific creatines out there.
